Tournament Saturday...Saturday..Saturday..
This past Saturday was the start of our local GW's Throne of Skulls Tournament for 40K, (i think thats what they call it anyways). According to the local manager, each round of the tournament will be done every 3rd weekend, each player playing 1 game of 1750pts each on set tables and terrain. A couple of buddies and me arrived at 12pm sharp for the tournament. I took my Thousand Sons Pre-Hersey army along with some Nightlord allies to flesh out a somewhat competitive army. I really dont care for lash princes, they make big targets and I hate putting all my eggs in one basket so to speak that relies on the lashes to win games. I have taken Lash Sorcerers who have worked wonderful combined with Thousand Sons, I didnt want to appear "cheesy" so I decided against it. As I wanted to have fun I took the following list
1750 Pts - Chaos Marines Roster - Tourney List TS/Nightlords Help #7
HQ: Chaos Sorcerer
1 Chaos Sorcerer (Mark of Tzeentch; Warptime; Wind of Chaos)
HQ: Chaos Sorceress
1 Chaos Sorceress of Slaanesh (Mount of Slaanesh; Mark of Slaanesh; Warptime)
Elite: Chaos Terminators
1 Chaos Terminators(Terminator)
6 Terminator (Power Fist x2; Combi-plasma x4; Heavy Flamer x1)
Troops: Thousand Sons
8 Thousand Sons (Rhino)
1 Aspiring Sorcerer (Warptime)
1 Rhino (Twin Linked Bolter)
Troops: Thousand Sons
8 Thousand Sons (Rhino)
1 Aspiring Sorcerer (Warptime)
1 Rhino (Twin Linked Bolter)
Troops: Chaos Space Marines
9 Chaos Space Marines (Plasmagun x2)
1 Aspiring Champion (Power Fist)
Heavy Support: Obliterators
1 Obliterators
Heavy Support: Obliterators
1 Obliterators
Heavy Support: Havocs
8 Havocs (Meltagun x4; Rhino)
1 Rhino (Dozer Blade; Twin Linked Bolter)
I love Warp Time, especially on a Slaaneshi Sorceress on a steed, she has a whopping 6 attacks on the charge which are all re-rollable and she moves like a beast all that at initiative 6. Not Thunderwolf calvary but the closest I could get with Chaos. My opponent brought a tough as nails Ork Mech army with a ton of vehicles and twin Big Meks, nasty Nob squad, and 2 Battlewagons. The pics are some shots I took with my phone of my game. Needless to say after a hard fought battle I won the battle with 7 kill points to 5, according to my friend, I luck out. My opponent was a great player who made the game an absolute blast which made for a great and fun game. My MVP was the Havocs loaded with 8 marines and 4 melta guns in a Rhino which accounted for almost 4 vehicle kills, 1 truck, 1 war track, and 2 deff dreads. I wonder what Round 2 will bring...

Terrain Building...
So the time has come for me to start building some more terrain for my new portable gaming table, portable in a sense that I could fold both 6 foot tables in half when I am done using them. Though our humble abode is pretty small, my lovely significant other allowed me to pick up 2 six foot foldable tables that when placed side by side make a very nice 6x4 1/2 gaming table. I just cant believe I didn't think about this before and the tables service double duty when we have BBQs. The nice thing about our place is that we have a private enclosed patio where the "gaming" table fits perfectly and with spring weather here out west, its nice to be able to play outside. If the need arises and we need to play indoors, it will only take me to move my couch around to make the room. Pics are of the finished terrain piece, finished building that is, I still need to prime it and then paint it. I picked up this GW piece almost 7 months ago just because I loved the look of it, now with a table to use it on, I finally found the need to build it. Starting with the Medusa V campaign almost 3-4 years ago, GW has started to put out some great looking terrain pieces including the fortress of Redemption, the Sky shield landing pad, and the imperial Sector (city stuff). Back when Medusa V was going on I also picked up that Battle Mat, cool looking giant 6x4 poster really which at the time I was really disappointed with but it sure does look nice, maybe I will get it laminated to make it more sturdy. I'm hoping to get this done in the next couple of days as I want to get back to painting more sisters. Arrgh, a hobbyists work is never done..

The Call of Chaos....again..
Arrgh, just when I have committed myself to finishing my Black Templars/Witch hunter army I see this on the Forge world main page... and again the creative juices start to flow, that I need, no I must get that model and convert him into a Nightlords Commander. I mean look at that scowl on his face, just picture his armor painted in the Midnight blue and gold of the Nightlords, I think I finally found my new Nightlords commander... Why is it that Forgeworld produces models that are just incredible looking? It would be an easy conversion too, and after reading Soul Hunter completely in Fluff with how the Nightlords scavenge the battlefield for armor, I could say my Nightlords Commander beat the tar out of a Raven Guard Captain and stole his armor. Maybe by next week after I get paid I will be able to convince my better half that I need to order this model.. ARRGH.. No, no I need to continue with painting my Space Marines and Witch Hunters.. Well at least I stuck to my schedule and my first squad of Sister are done, 10 sisters with 2 melta guns (my versions of them anyways) and a sister superior. Now to finish my Dominion Squad of 5 Sisters and my Cannoness and I will be done with my Witch Hunter allies for my Black Templars; for now anyways. Pics are my completed Sisters, still thinking on putting decals on them, I did on the first 5 and I must say I love the way they look. What do you guys think about decals?

First Time ever...
Will I decided to take the plunge and create a blog. I guess after listening to many a podcast and reading other blogs I decided to finally take the plunge. I primarily want to use this as a way of motivating myself to get some of my armies painted. I primarily play chaos space marines in which I have 2 armies, my Nightlords and my Pre-Hersey Thousand Sons. Both of these armies are painted and so the issue really lies with my 1st army and my 3rd army. Right now I want to finish my first army, my Black Templar Space Marines. Funny that an army that is almost all black and yet I still haven't finished it. I just found them tendious to paint and I just found Chaos to be more fun which is what motivated me to paint them. I got most of my infantry done, I just need to finish a crusader, 2 dreads, and maybe a vindicator, I haven't decided yet. What really makes this army interesting for me is the induction of some Witch Hunter units. I also have a Witch Hunters army, in pieces really but after taking a look one day through my bits box and buying a couple of boxes of Sisters, I now have about 1000pts of Sisters. I want to get them done so that I could still use them as allies before this gets changed which with all of the abuse of using inquistors and Mystics with Guard armies will speed the process up. The pics are some of my finished Sisters. Im hoping to finish my first squad of 10 by this weekend.. Well thats the plan anyway. Let me know what you think.
