The Lure of Chaos...again...
Arrgh, so again the lure of chaos has called me again, again I am building a new chaos army... sorry my Sisters of battle, I am inspired to get another chaos army to the desktop, that and GW pulling the rug out of my idea by killing the ally system. My sisters will still be a focus but due to Games-workshop releasing their codex as a PDF, we came to find out that the ally system that I was going to use (with my Black Templars) is no longer valid. Well that or you can ask your opponent if its ok seems to be the answer which is pretty lame, why not just admit that you can't ally or you can and be done with it. I do own the codex however, I dont want to be in a position where every game with them is going to start with, "uh, are you ok with me using Sisters with my black templars?" As such, I am going to have to build an entire witch-hunters army if I ever want to field them without any questions; that or play some apocalypse. Lucky for me, I picked up 2 of the old imperial guard storm troopers metal box sets at a GW Bizarre Bazaar dirt cheap to use as inquisitorial storm troopers bringing my model count for the sisters to almost 70 models. Now I just need to get some Exorcist tanks and I should have a full army.
For my new Chaos army, I will be using the space wolf codex after playing against it numerous times and wanting to try a different take on it.
I listened to the 11th company's podcast several episodes back when Pat had Goatboy on and the list he described sounded like a lot of fun to play. After taking a look at the codex and finding old models to use, I found that it would take very little for this army to come about and it would seem very chaos like. I bought the Khorne lord on a juggernaut almost 2 years ago when it came out as the model is gorgeous. This will be the basis for my army; a Khorne lord riding a juggernaut to be my count as wolf lord on a thunderwolf mount. For the color scheme I am doing a pre-Hersey scheme, blue trim with the majority of the army in white that I am also washing black to make it appear dark grey and dingy.
I really cant stand to paint normal marines, they are just too plain for me and I love the ornate power armor that Chaos marines have. Attached are pics of my new Chaos army first squad (count as Grey Hunters). Let me know what you think.... I plan on having the next 5 guys in the next squad done by next week.

40K Tournament - Round 2...
So this past Saturday marked the 2nd round of Games-Workshop 1750 40K tournament. Coming in with a win I really was excited to see who and what army I would be facing. I took the same army as last month (Pre-Hersey Thousand Sons) however I did change it up a bit. I took Artimus the Twisted (count as Kharn) and played with cheaper Thousand Sons units due to victory points killing me the last time. Upon getting there and having the manager roll up my random opponent, I got to play a Space Marine player with a unique hammer unit. After my opponent deployed, I saw that he had put down a landraider crusader with some thunder hammer storm shields termies and a chaplain. Just because I like to be open about my army and after I explained my army to him, I asked if their was anything special regarding the squad. To my surprise I found out that I was facing Lysander, Grey Knight termies, and a Chaplain. I just smiled at my opponent and said, gee glad I asked. I am all about "count as" armies however I hate it when players don't even tell you what a model is unless you ask them. It just seemed that this guy wasn't going to spoil the surprise unless I asked him. First couple of turns went my way or as best as they could based on my horrible dice rolls. My MVP's of last month, my Rhino mounted Havocs with 4 melta guns just became a speed bump for my opponents hammer unit. By turn 5, I was down by 2 kill points and needed that turn 6 to possibly win the game, I had Lysander and his chaplain down to 1 wound and only one grey knight left on the side of the table that my army was at. Alas, It wasn't meant to be, I rolled and got a 2 ending the game. Though my opponent pulled a "cheesy move" in the beginning, through out the game he was a blast to play with and was a gracious winner. At least I beat him in victory points so I got the moral victory... lol. Pics are of some of the units I used in the game, I will upload better pics of the army in my next posts

Transport time...
Okay, so I now have 2 squads of sisters done and to complete my "allied" army I need to paint up some transports. I still cant believe that I have almost 20 sisters painted, now all I need to do is paint up a rhino and an immolater and my sisters part of the army is done for now anyways. I still have almost 25 more sisters to paint which I will get to once I pick up some Exorsist tanks so that I can run just a sisters army without any allies.. I am tempted to hold off as I don't know what the future will hold for Sisters of Battle, hopefully new plastic Exorsists. If I ever do them, I am just going to take Space Marine Whirlwinds and convert them as the current model one is just damn too expensive. Pics of my Immolater that is about half way done. Hopefully I will get this done by this weekend to start on the next one.

Getting back on Track...
Well the good thing is i'm back to working on my sisters of battle. After a couple of days "off" its back to business. Memorial day kind of came by surprise for me and my wife, we scrambled to get to the business of going away for the weekend and spent a wonderful weekend in San Diego visiting such favorite spots such as Coronado and the Gaslamp District. Well, I can say is that I am done with my Dominion squad as well as my "count as" Cannoness. Pics are my finished Dominion Flamer squad complete with Veteran Sister Superior and my Cannoness. I used the variant Sorcha model which will upset some warmachine fans. I had this model laying around and her ice hammer makes a great blessed weapon. I just don't care for the cannoness model that GW currently has. I just hope that when they do re-do them they put out a plastic model with lots of options similar to how they did the plastic Chaos Terminator lord. Options and plastic please, metal is getting very old. Now it time to work on some transports for them before I get started on my next sisters squad. Got to take a break from painting Sisters.
